Information
PRIVATE SECONDARY VOCATIONAL SCHOOL HRANICE, Ltd.
Introduction
Private Secondary Vocational School is a four-year high school for 15 –19 years old students who have completed the compulsory education at primary school (grades 1-9).
The school has a student population of over two hundred and fifty students. It is organised on the basis of a class system, all students in the same class having the same timetable. A considerable amount of classes (especially languages, computer classes etc.) are divided into smaller groups though. Students are in school full-time from 8:05 – 14:35, Monday - Friday.
The school year consists of two semesters. Each semester students take a full-time load of courses. At the end of each semester students receive a mark upon completion of all requirements in each subject.
All students follow a common curriculum disregarding their specialization. Then they opt to specialise in one of four streams: business, computer science, tourism or security & law (from 2009). However, in all streams there is a strong focus on computer literacy and languages. All courses provided qualify students for the state school leaving exam standard in their final year. In terms of the academic standard, this corresponds roughly to A-levels in the United Kingdom.
